There are SO many "things" (not just possessions but people and experiences too!) that I would like to bring into my life. But...I'm thinking if this is the view from my deck, I would probably have all the other things I wanted too!
What would you create for yourself?

Love the new papers by Teresa Collins!
The colors look so much better in real life. Beautiful oranges!
What are you grateful for?
Wouldn't it be fun to record those blessings in a scrapbook?
Check out Teresa's blog for some great scrapbooking ideas! Be sure to see the calendar featuring these papers. Awesome!
Of course this can be found in my Etsy shop!

It's fitting that I stumbled upon this quote today. My life has been a little bit consumed by a kite lately. Actually, the book The Kite Runner.
I read it for my Poli Sci class and now that I'm writing a paper on it I'm listening to the audio book on my commute to refresh my memory. I'm so glad that I picked up the audio book. It is read by the author, Khaled Hosseini and his voice adds so much to the story. I love hearing his pronunciation of the words I could only stubble over while I read. I haven't watched the movie yet, but I'm sure I will eventually. To be honest, I'm a little obsessed with it. Obsessed with learning more about Afghanistan. To be even more honest...I'm actually surprised I feel this way. When I started the class I was kind of disappointed that almost the entire class was going to be devoted to Afghanistan, a country that is always in the news but one that surprisingly I knew very little about. Now I can't seem to get enough of it. Even as I'm struggling to find the time to fit this class (and the papers that go along with it!!) into my hectic schedule, I am so glad that I signed up for it!
In the story, Amir imagined that one day he would grow up to be a writer. He followed that dream even though he knew it wasn't necessarily the occupation his father would have chosen for him. What do you imagine for yourself? What dream do you have tied to your kite?

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
You are the guy who'll decide where to go.

The car is packed. My son leaves today for college. Hopefully year 3 won't require as many tears as year 1! On MY part, of course, not his! :)

Have a great Sunday!
This is pretty much how my to-do list is looking these days. Partly because that's just how life goes...and partly because I can't seem to say NO...but mostly because there are a lot of things going on right now that I don't necessarily want to say no to.
Work is...well...work. Kinda gotta stick with that if I want to do things like, let's say eat and pay for my kids' college tuition!
Then there's the class. Seemed like a good idea last spring when I signed up for it. Now I'm wondering...what I was thinking? Did I forget that I already spend at least 11 hours per day working (including the commute)? AND that I'm also running a scrapbooking business (which I love)!? None of that seems to matter though because I also LOVE the class (even though I have no idea how I'm going to find time to write the papers!).
And then there's volunteering for the political campaign that I just cannot seem to resist. And getting kids back to college. And throwing a bridal shower. And...and...and...
Anyway, all this is to say that I probably won't be posting as often as I would like over the next few months. Of course, you can always find out what's going on by checking out my Facebook page!
It's been a few weeks since I posted a Wishful Wednesday. So, today my wish is to find a way to enjoy the process of living this sometimes crazy life.
