Motivation

Dreaming of this today…but I know there’s lots to be done between now and then so it’s “off to work I go”….IF you can call scrapbooking “work”!  I’m still trying to get my inventory built back up in my shop.  Hopefully I’ll get a lot accomplished this weekend since my girls have gone back to school.  Fewer distractions!   I love, love, love spending time with my kids when they’re home…but I also crave “alone time”!   I guess it’s a good balance right now with them in college and just popping home occasionally.  It’s fun to see how excited they are to come home…and then just as excited to get back to their “real lives”.

We’ve had some beautiful spring weather here in Illinois…finally!  I’m itchin’ to get out in my yard and start planting…but somehow I’ve managed to mess up my back…so gardening is on hold…as is pretty much everything else that is non-essential.  Hopefully tomorrow I will get some relief with the cortisone shots and life will return to normal.  Whatever ‘normal’ is! 

Scrapbook orders are going out a little bit slower than usual….but I should get caught up this weekend.  So if you’re waiting for an order…it will be shipped SOON!  :)

Yeah…definitely ideas worth spreading

I don’t know about you…but I LOVE to be inspired.   One of my favorite places to go for inspiration…or simply to learn something…is TED.    If you’ve never been to the website, I hope you take a look and see what might inspire you.

I love this talk by Elizabeth Gilbert.  She is, of course, the author of the hugely successful Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman's Search for Everything Across Italy, India and Indonesia memoir.  I instantly loved her writing voice.  It is comfortable and un-fussy.  She also has a new book, Committed: A Skeptic Makes Peace with Marriage.   Anyway, in this talk she is speaking about creativity. 

There are other TED talks that are pretty amazing and I’d love to share with you, but for now I’ll leave you with this one.  Leave me a comment with your favorites….and we’ll compare lists!

It’s All About Me

Spring is just around the corner…and for the past few years around here that has meant PROM!  Not this year.  Been there.  Done that.  We’ve moved on to pledging….but that’s a whole other story!
